Evacuation chronicles day 2

pepperpot504Wow it has been a busy few days .
Sunday night we started with prepping the house and we finished it up on Monday morning before heading out. That was a smart move considering the stories of the horrible traffic on the roads later.
This morning we got up early since hubby had a meeting but then we found out it was postponed to a week later.
Gee a little notice could have been nice but such is life..
So we had breakfast courtesy of the hotel and after breakfast I went for a walk around the hotel and other places. I have to admit while I am grateful to be out of harm's way my heart is for those that can't leave for one reason or another.
Also there is the thought that if you aren't in an evacuation zone you don't have to leave. Yeah I get that it spares the roadways but the idea of not having basic services for a while isn't enticing. Also hubby needs electricity for work so there's that.
The storm did weaken but is back up to cat 5... FUUUCK
*sigh*
People have been very nice here and I have been chatting with other evacuees here at the hotel.
Anyways I better get back to the room to see when we're going out for dinner .
